The story keeps you guessing as to what is really going on, even to the point where the cops seem inept and confused, and the final reveal is gold and changes everything. 9/10 Stars review ratings from me  Really a twist cant really predict it well at least on the first half of it. Its gritty cop drama style, strong performances, and tense atmosphere, though critics note it slips into predictable genre tropes in the second half.

Really solid action-thriller from Joe Carnahan and showcases the great bro chemistry between Affleck and Damon. This is, albeit I've only watched a handful so far, best Netflix movie and doesn't have that obvious AI written dialogue thankfully. I did see one twist coming only because this actor also played a traitor in another Netflix movie I watched, but still a fun and entertaining flick. **3.75/5**

I think those who like crime and spy films will enjoy it. Also, some of the actors are familiar faces. I think you should give it a chance. I didn't like it and couldn't even finish it. Still, thank you for your efforts.

The Rip: A Knives Out Mystery Convoluted bullshit mystery. How many plates can you spin Mr. Damon? You are incredible and Ben...just does exactly what you know he'll do. Which is the right thing because you are all so just. Well done officers. Could have been shorter.

To be fair, perhaps the biggest problem with this genre, in general, is its become its own cliche. Hard drinking, sweary, hairy, violent cop tough guy, sterotypes, who drive souped up cars and are smarter than first appearances, would suggest. The RIP leans heavily into this cliche, with predictable outcomes. About half way through, I'd worked out who was doing what and why. Its not because I'm especially clever, its because I've seen this all before in one form or another. Yet, the film still includes a reveal that explain's everything, that's supposed, I'm assuming, to come as a revelation to the audience. Performances from well known faces are alright but hardly add a lot in the way of gravitas, to what is, only a moderately entertaining action, "who dunnit", thriller. In summary, Hollywood needs new material.You can't expect endless repitition to equal boundless success. In short, an okay watch but does nothing to distinguish itself.
