The main characters are all shallow tropes with zero depth beyond whatever role they've decided they need to fill. The voice acting is abrasive and similarly trite. The writing quality generally leaves a lot to be desired. The concept of the story is interesting and the animation is well done.

The only reason Shakespeare was considered to be the best writer of all time was because Isayama was not born yet.
